Transferring of airtime on AIRTEL is a free service called ME2U which allows airtel users both new and existing to transfer airtime to other airtel users.

Note: Before you can transfer airtime, you must change the default PIN which is 1234.

How To Change Your AIRTEL Transfer Pin

Send an SMS with your Default Pin New Pin to 432. For example, Send an SMS with `1234 2356′ to 432.

You can also change your default pin on AIRTEL toolkit by following the steps below:

Visit Airtel menu on your device
Choose ‘Airtel services’
Click on ‘Me 2 U’
Select ‘Change PIN‘
Enter default pin 1234
Choose a new PIN and save changes.

After using any of the above mentioned options to change your Default PIN, you will receive an SMS notifying you that your PIN was changed successfully.

How To Transfer Airtime On AIRTEL Using USSD

On your Mobile phone, Dial *432# then click on send, Select transfer airtime, Enter the recipient number, Enter your transfer pin, Confirm your transaction by replying with option (1). When the transfer has been completed, you will get a message notifying you that the transfer was successful.

Tips:

You can only transfer airtime if your credit balance is greater or up to the minimum balance you have requested to transfer. You can verify you current balance by dialing *123#.
There is no limit to the maximum number of transactions per day.
You can only transfer in Naira amounts and not in kobo, i.e. you can transfer NGN71.00 but not NGN71.99.
You are permitted to transfer credit to fellow Airtel subscribers and other networks as well.
You must have activated the AIRTEL ME2U service.
